Viewing documents and "hits"

  • Search results list  all retrieved files, along with the number of hits.
  • dtSearch's built-in file viewers display retrieved documents with search terms highlighted.
  • You can scroll through your files, jump from hit to hit, or search for new text in a retrieved document.
  • dtSearch can also prepare a search report- an "executive summary" displaying all hits in all file, along with as much context as you want.
  • Hypertext links in search reports lets you jump to your original documents.
  • dtSearch will automatically un-Zip and display files in a Zip archive.

Viewing Images

  • A built-in image viewer displays all popular graphics formats (TIF, GIF, PCX, BMP, JPG, EPS,etc.).
  • Click on image to switch from the text of a file (myfile.doc) to images associated with that file (myfile1.tif, myfile2.tif, myfile3.tif).
  • Zoom In, Zoom Out, Flip, Invert, etc.

Additional options for PDF and HTML files

  • dtSearch can display PDF files in the Adobe Reader with the hits highlighted.
  • dtSearch can display HTML files in your Web browser with the hits graphically marked.
  • Click on the marker after a hit to go to the next hit, or the preceding marker to go to the previous hit.
  • dtSearch can also display HTML files using its own file viewers, With hit highlighting and "Live" hypertext links.
